Re: 1. Trepadora desconocida de Ecuador Olga - I do not read or speak Spanish but am manually translating every message that is posted in Spanish... I realize that Spanish is the preferred language on this site and it makes using the web easier for those who only read Spanish , but as English...
There is no scientific binomial of Ipomoea imperialis. The plant in the 1st set of photos is Ipomoea purpurea as can be seen by the seedpods in the lower right quadrant. Maria - The large white throat on your plant is particularly interesting (!)
Re: trepadora desconocida I search the old threads when I first join a site because many issues have not been fully resolved and questions that may not have been asked initially are brought back to life. How can anyone be certain that no person is interested to consider a new or additional...
The flower is photo #1 is interesting to me. The leaves are not visible to me...sometimes the vines can produce very small leaves buried in the undergrowth and makes the ID very challenging...Ipomoea sagittata can do this and although the flowers resemble I.sagittata , it does not look exactly...
Re: 1. Trepadora desconocida de Ecuador Bruno - I replied to the other thread that you linked to...
Re: 2. Trepadora desconocida de Ecuador Bruno - The winged pedicels are typical of the genus Operculina but sometimes occur within other genera like Ipomoea... Are you growing these plants (?) or did you just happen to take photos of them (?) Did you happen to see what color the flowers...
Fernando - The page looks like a good general reference but I could go to every single one of the institutions listed and find errors , in fact I do commonly submit error reports to many institutions when I am of the mind to do so... Regarding the specific binomial of the plant that is the...
The current binomial is Ipomoea sloteri. Quamoclit is no longer a genus since it was absorbed into Ipomoea as a subgenus and as a section a long time ago.
You're welcome
I'm glad to help out where I can but I'm no 'miracle worker'...
I agree that #2 could be Ipomoea tiliacea but it could also be other species in series batatas. I do not know every species and I can only share from my experience. I would like to suggest that more attention be placed on the calyx , sepals and developing fruit as the exact characteristics and...
Thank you for the welcome and I hope to be of service.
Re: Lo he cojido de la calle, como se llama? cincinnata - Thanks for the welcome Yes, I am the "Ron" from the other horticultural sites , although I never refer to myself as an expert but as a constantly 'aspiring aficionado'...that's my 'disclaimer'... I have my info in my profile here which...
Ranis - Your plant #2 is Ipomoea hederifolia http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/115427/
My impression is that both leaves belong to Ipomoea indica http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/261354/ Please see my comments on the main entry page for Ipomoea violacea in the PlantFiles here http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57559/
Re: 1. Trepadora desconocida de Ecuador I think your unknown climber is Ipomoea setosa http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/88134/ Possibly Ipomoea crinicalyx Flowers can vary in color from dark shades of pink to white
#2 Ipomoea indica
Ipomoea sloteri is the only Internationally accepted legitimate binomial for the older synonym of Ipomoea multifida
Re: BUSCO IPOMEA BLANCA Ipomoea tricolor is commonly confused with Ipomoea violacea , although the 2 species are distinctly different. Please see my comments on the lower portion of the main entry page in the PlantFiles here : http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57559/
#3 is Ipomoea hederifolia (2n = 30) as can be determined by the fully erect seedpods ; http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/789528/ http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/81986/ ipomoea coccinea (2n = 28) by contrast has seedpod pedicels that reflex (bend towards the ground)...
#1 Ipomoea indica
I agree with #2 being Ipomoea carnea
Re: intercanvio de semillas The plant here http://www.alkimiaesenciasflorales.com/catalog/images/dondiego.jpg is Ipomoea purpurea
#5 could be a number of different species because many can have the leaf shape as shown although I would tend to favor Ipomoea pubescens or perhaps Ipomoea lindheimeri
Ipomoea sloteri is the current Internationally accepted legitimate binomial and Ipomoea multifida is the outdated synonym which should no longer be used.
Re: reproduccion ipomea violacea Ipomoea violacea and Ipomoea tricolor are 2 completely different species. Please see my comments in the comment section of the main entry page here http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57559/
Re: mas yuyitos uruguayos I agree with #2 being Convolvulus arvensis
Re: Todo sobre CONVOLVULACEAE : Ipomoea, Convolvulus y más... TaxonFinder - Evolvulus glomeratus passicobea- Your Scarlett O'hara is Ipomoea purpurea "Crimson Rambler" passicobea - Your 'macrantha' is Ipomoea tricolor "Pearly Gates"
Re: Ipomea indica: obtención de semilllas. Many plants of Ipomoea indica are too clonal (and therefore incompatible) to produce seeds. Ipomoea indica will produce seeds if the receptor and donor are the same species but genetically different *enough* to enable compatible pollen.
Ipomoea carnea
