E colectado una gran inflorecencia de c. costaricana,en vista de que ya tenia sus flores abiertas la e colectado antes de que soltara todo el polen,la idea es concervarlo algun tiempo hasta que consiga una hembra para polinizarla. Re: Como almacenar el polen? 100% ya que de lo contrario no soltaria tal cantidad de polen y por que de donde lo saque hay dos c. costaricanas grandes en contenedores separados pero una al lado de la otra,una de ellas tiene muy poquiticos frutos,como no hay mas ninguna en las redondesas esta la habra polinizado en su momento.

Gracias Carlos,efectivamente e estado leyendo por el foro de ips pero como mi ingles no da para mucho a la final suelo quedar peor que antes ,al perecer hay que secarlo,e leido que lo meten al horno a una temperatura de alrededor de 35º por unas horas,lo cierto es que e leido de todo y no me aclaro.

Haber si alguien puede resumir un poco esto haber si lo entiendo mejor: First, my method for pollenating: You can't depend on sticking the female flower spikes in a paper bag full of pollen and shanking it. I tried it and the results was very dissapointing. When I saw female flowers just begining to open, usually a day before anthesis, I would pull away the petals of the flowers to expose the pistal. If you get them just as they are opening, the petals are turgid and will break off. If you wait to late the petals become flagid and are hard to remove. I had a large magnifying glass on a stand surrounded by a flourescent light and this made it much eaiser to see what I was doing. I used a sharp dental tool to break the petals off. Some hardware stores sell a packet of various dental tools. I got mine at Brookstone, if you mates have those in Australia. (See, I speak Australian)! I would start at the top of the female infloresence and remove about 1/3 of the petals, and then when the pistals were exposed I would dip a brush (a sabal brush worked best for me) and then gently brush the pollen onto the pistals, then I would continue the process down the flower spike. I don't know if it made any difference, but I always wanted to get the pollen on the pistal while it was fresh and moist and before it started to dry from exposure to the air. Generally, it seems the male plants bloom a week or two before the females. I would use a business sized envelope with the bottom corners folded and taped to keep the pollen from sifting out the corners. When I saw a male flower that was mature, I would put the envelope under the flower and clip the entire infloresence off. If the male flowers are bright orange and have a plesant sent, then they are ready. I found that just jaring the infloresence would make a lot of pollen fall, the reason to put the envelope under before you clip it off. I would let the flowers dry for a day or two, then put the pollen in the refigerator until the female flowers were receptive. Using the above method, I often got almost 100% seed sets.

Otro post sobre el tema: I today cooked the remainder of an inflorescence from my fridge in the oven for 3 hours at 35C and then put the flowers into my wifes liquidiser ,and after sieving attained a quite amazing quantity of fine yellow pollen. This is now in the freezer so I am very hopeful..

Y por ultimo este: Mi experiencia con nitrógeno líquido, que es extremadamente baratas, sugirió que es sólo marginalmente mejor que un buen congelador en su conjunto más frío, y el congelador es más simple. Trabajé w / Phoenix, y diversos Butiinae. Recogido polen / flores masculinas fueron aplastados w / un rodillo, cernida a través de 60 mallas o así en un agitador, y las flores masculinas se calienta a 40 º C de 1-1.5 días y criba de nuevo. Si las flores masculinas no se seque por completo, se calienta y cernida una vez más. El polen fue puesto en botellas de suero, 30 o 60 ml, los modelos antiguos son mejores que los nuevos modelos, hemos utilizado dos. Las botellas son de medio lleno de polen, y la boca cubiertos con un único espesor de papel higiénico Kleenex o celebrada el w / una liga. El llenado de botellas fueron rodadas para que el polen se afloja antes de su secado. Las botellas de polen se secan por su parte más de Silica gel en recipientes de plástico cubiertos apretado para 24 a 36 horas, luego cerró y se almacenan en el congelador. Mi gel de sílice se utiliza cuando azul pálido, y no el brillante azul que muestra desde la primera vez que eliminan de secado en el horno. Esto es menos complicado de lo que pueda parecer, como he tratado de dar una explicación completa. Luego me pasan la cuenta.
